The victims were on their way home when unknown armed men opened fire on their vehicle.
The dead were taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), while the injured were taken to Quetta Hospital. However, later the injured were also shifted to CMH.
The incident caused panic in the area, while reinforcements were deployed by the Frontier Corps (FC) and police in the city.
