Ambushed: Police constable gunned down

PESHAWAR:


A police constable was gunned down by unidentified assailants outside a mosque in the vicinity of Khazana police station on Friday.


Hukam Khan, a resident of Siwan village in Daudzai, was on duty outside Masjid-e-Sadeeq Akbar in Bakshi Pul when the gunmen riding motorcycles opened fire on him. He was taken to Lady Reading Hospital where he died.

“He had been deployed there to provide security to worshippers during Friday prayers,” said a Khazana police. Several suspects have been arrested and are being interrogated, the official said.

Khan is the second police constable killed this year.
