The protesting lawyers also burned an effigy of Musharraf.
LAHORE:
Members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lawyers’ Forum on Friday staged a protest at GPO Chowk to denounce the ouster of the elected Nawaz Sharif-led government on October 12, 1999 by then military chief Pervez Musharraf. Dozens of lawyers led by Khwaja Mahmood marched from the Lahore High Court to GPO Chowk carrying placards and banners. They chanted slogans against General (retired) Musharraf and demanded the death penalty for him for the extra constitutional act. The protesting lawyers also burned an effigy of Musharraf. The lawyers also offered prayer for the early recovery of Malala Yousufzai.
