According to the Hollywood Reporter, Madonna told her audience that the incident made her cry.
"The 14-year-old schoolgirl who wrote a blog about going to school. The Taliban stopped her bus and shot her. Do you realize how sick that is?" she said and shouted: "Support education! Support women!”.
Later, Madonna performed an onstage striptease to reveal “Malala” stenciled across her back and saying “this song is for you, Malala”, she began singing Human Nature.
Malala remains on the ventilator with specialists saying the following 36 to 48 hours were critical for her.
Madonna has previously shown her support for US President Barack Obama and Russian punk band Pussy Riot during performances of the MDNA tour.

They don't come bigger than Madonna and they don't come braver than Malala. When the big salute the brave it is indeed welcome.
No reaction from culprit, the Mullahs of Pakistan. They are the cause of all trouble.
@3footninja: You will understand the difference one you have become a 6footninja .. US is a super power and it will do everything to protect its interests and its people .. One should not forget that It is our own people in tribal areas who have no respect for an international border and cross it at will to do the dirty work before speaking against this tool which has eliminated many criminals (those who have no respect for our sovereignty and our people) at least think once as to why are they taking place from past few years and didn't before. If these people are so interested in the affairs of another country why not just move to that place permanently instead of going there and then taking shelter like cowards, in our country. I can't imagine how can you compare Malala, a peace loving, patriotic and progressive child, with those people who brought it upon themselves by indulging in anti state activities and have caused destruction and mayhem in our cities. p.s Thank you Madonna
@Grieved Pakistani: I got it already, when IK marched against drone attacks i supported him. I am and was never in favor of Drone attacks inspite of this fact that Baitullah Mehsood and other militants have been killed under those attacks. Because Drone attacks killing militants on cost of peace loving innocent people. Q: How many our pop stars have raised voice against Drone Attacks? I am just appreciating act of Madonna and not opposing Drone attacks in any sense.
@3footninja
Name one...
Maddona, it's good to appreciate Malala but, inscribing her name on your "back" and then strip to show it - was not a good idea.
@Hukka! "And who exactly did 9/11? Uncle Gordon knows it better."Cheers One brave kid getting the fame while million of them dying unnamed.For what!!!!! Cheers
Doing a strip dance and then showing a stencil of the innocent girl's name - it's disgusting way to highlight a cause.
She could have done it in a more dignified way.
Anyway , each to his own.
@Grieved Pakistani: thank you for putting it so nicely! that was exactly my point. why the hypocrisy and double standard i ask? some people on this thread just don't seem to get it do they?!?
@UJ, You probably did not get the argument, everyone feels the pain for this brave little girl but the thing is there are many others that have been killed as well, but just because they were the targets of drone attacks they are not mourned. Malala no doubt is special for her brave acts that have been recognized all around the world, still that doesn't mean that the lives of children that are killed through drone attacks are valueless. Why this double standard?
@Shahzad: Are you out of your mind? RE-READ my post and then comment IDIOT!
@mr. righty rightist:
That is all we ever do. Spit on everything. So what Madonna did was trivial. Its the West and its freedom of speech. What Malala did was trivial. Just a childish thing. On and on and on.
Cynicism is easy. Doing something useful is difficult. No wonder most people choose the easy path. So Mr. Righty, carry on criticizing
@Ali: The atrocity on Malala is Haram
@UJ: Shame on u for giving a qualified condemnation to the atrocity committed on a 14 year old girl who simply wanted to study. This is simply not my Islam and I will not let the Taliban and their ilk hijack this. I beleive we need to resist extremism and stand up for Malala like the National Assembly and the armed forces have. Malala stands for a national symbol against obscurantism. I welcome those who stand by Malala and thank them.
This is highly appreciatable.
@3footninja: drones are neither targetted, on purpose, to Children nor anyone justify them.
My respect for Madonna as an Artist was always there - but today my respect for her as a human just went a notch further up! Malala and Madonna FTW!
This is Haram!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks Madonna.
People have started scratching their heads, After Madonna dedicated a song to a Pakistani Girl. Some people have already started finding some hints matching to illuminate and Zionism :D
Malala for Nobel peace
Isreal is doing the same and has done the same with the Palestinian children. I can bet that she does not even know the name of a single such boy or girl.
However she expressed it, she expressed it better than those who refuse to condemn the Taliban explicitly. YES! This means you PTI Talib-worshippers!!
@3footninja: Where were you when 9/11 happened? Dancing in the streets? Get a life. Respect for what she is doing.
@3footninja: Thousands? Which alternate reality are you living in?
Thank you Madonna. We appreciate your heartfelt gesture. However, please also dedicate a song to the thousands of Iraqi, Afghan and Pakistani children massacred by NATO and ISAF forces in cold blood while playing outside their homes, eating food, sleeping at night and shopping with their mothers. The Pentagon then classifies them callously as "collateral damage." Your soldiers, aircraft and drones do the killing and say, "mission accomplished." In turn, they receive medals with a 'well done' pat on the back by the most ignominious presidents of the USA, George Walker Bush and Barack Obama. Salams
@2footninja,
Madonna is always Madonna, you care, or u shout , or u critcize it is no use, .... She is cuckoo, always free to sing her own tune....
ok forget it you will not understand.
But You will understand the below sentence,
2footninja, you, your ilk and taliban should thank your stars that Ms.Malala was NOT A Pakistani Army General, By God, May be this war would have ended loooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggg time back...... hmmm.....NO, may be it would not have been needed in first case.
@3footninja: Shes not Pakistani citizen and a busy person. If she has done it for Malala, consider it is for all Pakistani daughters. Criticizing her is easy.Where were we when it was happening? (it has been happening since last 8 years).
Reply back and tell how many of our pop stars have raised voiced against Drone Attacks?
It's not a big deal.
Given the freedom of expression in the west, she can even support Saddam Hussain.
Pop star Madonna, who has voiced her political and social views through the MDNA tour, most recently "took on the Taliban" when she dedicated a song to Malala Yousafzai.
That is not how you take on the Taliban. The, then 11-year-old, showed us the way. Makes one wonder: What was I doing when I was 11? Hope Ms Malala recovers quickly. The worlds wishes are with her.
well done madonna. maybe you can come over to Pakistan and do a concert in malala's honour.
where was she when of thousands of innocent people including children are massacred in drone attacks? now all of a sudden she cares about this one person? "thank you"... yeah right!
I salute Madonna.
I wasnt a fan of Madonna but we highly appreciate this act as atleast she cares about Malala and bragging about her and her cause.
