QUETTA: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the interior secretary to furnish the Balochistan Vani case reportand ordered that elders of the jirga along with the girls be presented before it on November 19.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing  in the Supreme Court’s Quetta Registry pertaining to the barter of 13 minor girls.

The court had taken suo motu notice of an incident where 13 girls were allegedly bartered for settling a blood fued between tribes in Dera Bugti.

During the hearing, DC Dera Bugti Syed Faisal Shah informed the court that the incident took place in Barkhan and not Dera Bugti. He also said that despite their efforts, no evidence had been found.

Sarfaraz Bugti, the man who claimed the Vani incident happened, said he still claimed it happened to which the chief justice told him to bring those involved to court.

The attorney general told the court that as soon as the girls were located, they would be brought before the court in Islamabad, but since the case could not be confirmed, he prayed for it to be dismissed.

Justice Jawwad S Khawaja said this was not possible since the certification of the case had not yet been confirmed.

Mir Tariq Masoori Bugti, a member of the Balochistan Assembly, is said to have presided over a jirga in the Baikar area of Phelawagh to settle a blood feud between Masoori and Shahani Masoori clans.

The jirga had found the Masooris guilty and ruled that the offended party be given 13 girls in Vani besides a Rs3million fine.

The police should produce 12 girls from the area and one from the family of CJ . It is only then they will realize where the jutice lies .It is not there where they are locating it in the present constitution ,

Sarfaraz Bugti, the man who claimed the Vani incident happened, said he still claimed it happened to which the chief justice told him to bring those involved to court". Height to idiocy like this Joe Average guy has all the power to bring them to Court while those, with police power are suppose to standstill and watch.

"The attorney general told the court that as soon as the girls were located, they would be brought before the court in Islamabad" Just like the girls from Kohistan or Rinkle Kumari were brought to the SCP.. Nothing but eye wash. After fifteen minute of fame, business as usual.
