Court ‘attack’: PPP minister, activists booked in case

HYDERABAD:

Fisheries minister Zahid Bhurgari is among other district leaders of the ruling party who have been booked in a case for “carrying weapons and causing panic” at a court.

Two days ago, the Pakistan People Party’s youth wing activists had passed through the Hyderabad district and sessions court during a rally held in favour of the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance, 2012. The workers were allegedly shouting slogans against the judiciary as they marched through the court.

On Wednesday, advocate Mumtaz Lashari registered the case with the Cantt police nominating 15 district leaders of the PPP along with 80 unidentified people.

Meanwhile, Zahid Bhurgari has alleged that the complainant lawyers were associated with the Nawaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League and nationalist parties, who are venting out their anger against the ruling party. Although the FIR has been registered, no suspects have been arrested yet.
