Speaking to the media outside the National Assembly, Nisar said that some clauses of the bill were “laughable” and that the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government “will try its best to get the bill passed by the assembly to secure the billions of rupees they have earned by corruption.”
“Voting for this bill is equivalent to voting for corruption and legalising the financial impropriety done in the past 65 years,” said Nisar.
He said that the political parties “talk a lot about politics and what all they can do – I ask the MQM, if they really wanted real accountability then they should vote against this fake accountability bill.”
Nisar also asked the ANP leaders to second PML-N’s opposition and said that his party was happy to see some members of the ANP standing against the accountability bill during the previous session of the National Assembly.
The Opposition leader said that it will be a “betrayal” to the people of Pakistan to pass “the so-called accountability bill.”
Responding to a question as to why he only stressed upon the MQM and the ANP, Nisar said that he “did not want to ask the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), because they had sold their integrity to the PPP.”
He said that the passage of the bill will empower the prime minister to appoint a chairman of the accountability commission.
“If I am implicated in a corruption case of billions of rupees and don’t get caught, I am free to do whatever I want. If I am caught, then I can easily return the money and no legal proceedings will be carried out against me… and if a reference is filed against me then I can return the money and in turn, I will be disqualified for a short period of time… which means I will not be arrested even if I am caught up in corruption cases.”

An other fix match as usual for the last four & half year, by pakistani Mr Bean
This write-up should have included a short description of the bill and the clauses in it which Ch. Nisar finds objectionable. I am clueless as to the nature of the bill after reading this. Bad feature writing on part of ET.
If all Bills have to be passed by consensus then very little will be done in the assemblies. Democracy requires only a majority vote to make a law. Coalition govt should pass "new accountability bill' if it is approved by the standing committee. PMLN can make amendments when they come into power.
