Media jurists: Press council finalises inquiry heads

Subcommittee appointed by the PCP finalised the names of Asma Jehangir as head of the body for Punjab.

The Press Council of Pakistan (PCP) has finalised the names of four jurists to head the Inquiry Commission which will deal with complaints against media houses and journalists. 


The subcommittee appointed by the PCP finalised the names of Asma Jehangir as head of the body for Punjab, Justice Ali Aslam Jaffri as head of Sindh, Justice G N  Hohli as head of Balochistan and Justice Fazal-i-Haq Abbasi as head of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) has nominated Zahid Malik from Pakistan Observer, Umer Mujib Shami from Daily Pakistan, Masood Hamid from the APNS Daily Dawn, Muhammad Siddiq Baloch from the Daily Balochistan Express and Ayaz Badshah from the Daily Mashriq as members of the subcommittee.
