MMA to be revived from October 18, minus JI: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

JUI-F chief says a meeting has been called in Islamabad to revive Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced on Tuesday that the defunct Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) will be revived on October 18, but without the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), reported Express News.

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Rehman said that a meeting has been called in Islamabad for the revival of MMA. He added that they had tried unsuccessfully for two years to bring the JI back in the body.

The revived MMA will consist of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Jamiat Ahle Hadees, Islami Tehreek and JUI-Samiul Haq faction.
