Strategic partnership Agreement: Pakistan rejects Karzai’s preconditions
Last week, Karzai told a news conference in Kabul that conditions would be attached to negotiations on the strategic agreement with Pakistan.
Listing the conditions, the Afghan president said that Pakistan must stop what he calls “the export of terrorism, suicide bombers, interference and all the other things which result in killing and disturbing the Afghan people’s tranquillity and destabilising Afghanistan”.
“Once we are assured that Pakistan, with which we want to have a friendly relationship, meets these conditions – eliminates terrorism and extremism and stops the training and export of insurgency to Afghanistan – Afghanistan will be ready to work on this,” the Afghan president had said.
However, Pakistan strongly rejected these accusations terming them totally “misplaced and without any basis”.
According to an official statement, the foreign ministry spokesperson said that Pakistan would like to have a mature and responsible dialogue with Afghanistan. “However, diplomacy through media needs to be avoided,” he added in reference to President Karzai’s statement.
The spokesman stated that the proposed Strategic Partnership Agreement was suggested by President Karzai during the Trilateral Summit held recently in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.

They must come clean first before placing conditions on anyone else. They have nothing to talk but give regards to pakistan for extending unconditional support up till now.

Last time I looked Islamabad had little or no control over 1/2 of Pakistan -- so maybe you should look in the mirror before you cast pity.
One can only laugh at Mr Karzai whose authority & control is confined to the limits of his own presidential palace. Pity you!
For a country which constantly makes statements that indicate that your goal is a friendly, peaceful and stable Afghanistan - you sure go out of your way to make sure you have the opposite. The American's learned years ago to ignore anything you say and judge you by your actions -- no doubt the Afghanistan will follow suit.
What is causeing Terrorism in Afghanistan, Karzai knows it and is 100 % reponsible for it. Read todays story of New York times and then find the culprits for the mess and stop complaining pakistan and blaming for what it is not responsible.

It is very clear who is more eager to have that strategic, whatever that means, deal. Afghanistan already has one with India and US. It serves her purpose more or less. Everything India has Pakistan wants it like nuclear arasnel, Missael, Civil Nuclear deal, Satellite, Nuclear Submarine etc
Whole world is lying, only pakistan speaks truth. Till when pakistan will fool itself?
NO to any agreement with Afghanistan without repatriation of Afghan Refugees.
karzai knows the gravity of situation.. and rightly stand for his country. Pak should ashamed for its policy of poking nose on neighbors, for creating and officially supporting all kinds of nonsense within its borders. Ashamed to be called a pakistani, that none of neighbors look at us with respect.
Afghans won't forget and Pakistan won't regret.

This is not just the demand from Afghanistan , but of all the concerned parties including US, NATO, European Union etc... At least one attempt to critically analyse why every country is putting such tough and embarrassing demands is needed!!!
