Cricket: Razzaq likely to face disciplinary action
Razzaq created controversy by blaming the captain for his exclusion from the match, which Pakistan lost by 16 runs, describing the decision as ‘illogical and taken only by Hafeez’.
The board will discuss the scenario today and action against the all-rounder was likely even though he is not a centrally-contracted player, according to a PCB official.
“Razzaq was bound by PCB rules,” the official told The Express Tribune. “Even if a player is not contracted he has to follow instructions. His statement may invite sanctions. The feedback from coach and manager will also be taken.”
Team management backs Hafeez
Meanwhile, a team official, who was part of the selection process, defined Razzaq’s remarks as unnecessary.
“It’s very unfortunate,” said the official. “There were no hidden intentions behind his snub. Razzaq’s replacement Sohail Tanvir justified his selection with a good bowling performance. It was just another bad day for our batting otherwise all went well before.”
The manager downplayed Razzaq’s claims that Hafeez took an independent decision.
“It’s impossible for a single member of the tour selection committee to make a decision. Coach Dav Whatmore, PCB selector Salim Jaffer and manager Naveed Akram were also part of the selection panel.”
However, the official added that the captain’s choice was preferred to boost his confidence. He said that the manager will submit the report in a couple of days, adding that decisions will be made in light of the findings.

I am sorry but its the Faisalabad Lobby at the helm of affairs! PCB Chairman, Misbah and Hafeez all from the same Division as far as BTCricket is concerned! They have always had their favourites-Misbah prefering Junaid over Wahab Riaz who everyone knows is the best left arm option BUT perhaps being from a better family background and educational one (Aitchisonian) does not match the ordinary standards of MIsbah! Now Hafeez-a man extremelly lucky to be in the team in the first place despite being an absolute ordinary club cricket batsman that he is. Tour Manger is being Stupid by comparing Razzaq's exclusion to Tanvir's inclusion! Its arafat's inclusion which should'nt have been there and instead Razzaq should have played. Go on all the Monkeys and ruin Cricket!
Hafeez is a good player but an average leader. Dropping Razzaq was a terrible mistake.
This team management that includes Hafeez is nothing but " 4 ka TOLA" on a mission to ruin the careers of some players and bring Pak cricket further down the drain. Someone has to take a stand and Razzaq did. Dropping Razzaq in the semi final was senseless especially after he did reasonably well in the previous game.

If Razzaq played for any other nation except Pakistan , he must have been a Captain. Not possible in our lovely and only lovely country Paksitan.
@Maira He was man of the series n the 1999-00 series of Australia. He was man of the match in at least five matches againist Australia and India. And just for your reminder, he hit five consecutive fours to Mcgrath, noone ever had done this to Mcgrath before
He knows well that his playing days are over so this is probably just a cheap publicity stunt for some moments in the spotlight.
Why, why, why do you do this PCB?
In his whole career, this is the first time he has spoken against a Captain or PCB decision. He is absolutely right.
It was shocking to see Arafat instead of Razzaq. We would have won the game if he was there. PCB should take notice of their "selection" panel. At the same time, Razzaq is wrong to blame Hafeez who did an excellent job throughout the tournament. I am proud of our boys in green - not having played an international match at home in 4 years and still get to every semi final! Kudos.
you are not a first Razzak to be victim in selection, from history, pakistan cricket has been playing in the hands of influntial people, who, even bring their inefficient family members in to the team. finally, let me share one joke here. M. Akram is bollowing coach of pakistan team, who, even had not been played in international matches because of his poor bollowing performance.lollllllll
I admire Razzak but lately his performance has been pretty average. Decision by Hafeez was absolutely correct. Hammad Azam should have been a selected instead of him in initial squad.

Hafeez along with team management made a big blunder by not playing Razzaq in Semi....

Excellent Talent of Abdul Razzaq is being wasted , need to use him as a opener in place of imran nazir and give him a full chance to prove him self.
You cant expect abdul razzaq to remain quiet for such a long time.
Disappointed with Razzaq's attitude. Even though I admire his talent, he needs to be taught a lesson.
Team selection was poor in most of the matches. Nazir and Afridi both didnt play well throughout and could have been dropped in a few matches. Pakistan had loads of other options to try as Razzaq and Shafiq but favoritism has always played an important role in our team.
And since Razzaq does not have any central contract (as far as my knowledge goes), I doubt he is bound to obey any rules
Its very disappointing & once again show our team management discipline. That any body can challenge the management committe on the basis of ex. captian which is not a part of the committee. this is realy show the influence of the outsider on the management committe. for God sack improve your discipline.

Abdul Razzaq will always be my favourite player, he has won way more matches for PK then Afridi.
Razxaq is an experience player he should play in every match of t20 hafeez nt able for the place of team captain

Agreed! This was not necessary and also captain should have the right to select the playing 11..Dont expect this from a great player like Razzaq.. In this case i back the captain!
