KARACHI: KESC maintained their pole position in the ongoing Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) as they drew with defending champions KRL 2-2 in Lahore yesterday.

KRL gained the lead through Yasir Afridi’s goal in the 28th minute and later doubled the score with Hussain Abbas finding the net in the 61st. However, KESC’s Mohammad Rasool turned things around with a brace, scoring in the 74th and 80th minute to help his side share the honours.

KESC now lead the league with 23 points after 11 matches, while KRL, who are playing without three of their key players, are placed fourth with 15 after seven games.

Meanwhile, PAF claimed a 2-1 victory over Afghan FC in Peshawar. Despite Afghan FC’s early goal by Abdul Samad, they failed to contain PAF as Mohammad Mansoor scored the equaliser in the 19th minute and then sealed the win for his team in the 75th minute.

In other results, Muslim FC defeated ZTBL 2-1 in Islamabad, while PIA drew a goalless match against Wohaib FC.
