Ali said strict action would be taken against any organisations that are not “performing well”.
Speaking at a meeting with government representatives and NGOs in Bajaur, he said residents are not satisfied with the operations of these organisations.
“Only a few organisations have met the criteria of the FDMA, while the majority of them do not carry out their basic responsibilities,” he claimed. He said that according to a survey, several well-reputed organisations were also among those who failed to perform at the required standard.
Ali said that the FDMA would begin monitoring the activities of NGOs from now on.
At the meeting, Bajaur Political Agent Abdul Jabar Shah and representatives from various NGOs briefed Ali about activities in the area, while the FDMA director general also visited some parts of the agency to speak to tribesmen and tribal leaders.
