Unfair deal: Notice served on shop for selling substandard tiles

LAHORE:

A consumer court issued a notice for November 19 in a suit seeking Rs60,000 damages for allegedly selling substandard ceramic tiles.

Petitioner Dr Mohammad Ayub said he had purchased A-class tiles for his bathroom from Mohammad Shafique, owner of Saeed Brothers Sanitary Store, against Rs20,500. He took the tiles to Hujra Shah Muqeem and paid Rs35000 to labourers and transporters. He said his town experts, later, told him that the tiles were substandard. He prayed to the court to direct Shafique to pay him Rs60,000 in damages. Talking to The Express Tribune, Shafique said he had sold A-class tiles. He said he would contest the suit.
