Bilour calls PTI Waziristan march a 'drama'

Senior K-P minister says provincial government is democratic, will not resist the rally.

PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) peace march in Waziristan is a drama orchestrated at someone else's behest, alleged Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour on Thursday.

The PTI had stated that the peace march was important to show international media and human rights organisations the reality of the situation in South Waziristan and highlight the destruction caused by drone attacks.

Bilour stated that the provincial government was democratic and will not resist the rally.

He further said that the government was ready to hold talks with militants who shun terrorist activities.

“The ANP government had talked to them but they challenged the government’s writ and entered into Buner district from Swat,” he said.

Govt denies permission

PTI Secretary General Dr Arif Alvi tweeted on October 3 saying that the government had denied permission to the party to hold a peace march in Waziristan.

In his tweet, Dr Alvi said that the government had refused permission saying that it was impossible for 100,000 people to enter the area due to security concerns.
