After spending five days without electricity, residents of Zakaria Jokhio village protested on the Super Highway on Wednesday, halting traffic to and from Karachi.
Hameed Jokhio, Naeem Jokhio, Sajan, Maula Bux and others said that their village, which consists of 1,200 houses, had its power cut off due to nonpayment of bills. They claimed that nearby factories were defaulting on their bills, but the power company was punishing them.
