Engineering degrees: Convocation celebrates 106 graduates

The Military College of Engineering held its convocation ceremony on Wednesday. Around 106 graduates were awarded Bachelor’s degrees in Civil Engineering, according to a press release. Among those awarded degrees, Cadet Umais Khan received the President Gold Medal for best overall performance, Captain Taimur Shahzad, who won the Chief of Army Staff Gold medal for the best military student in academics and the Engineer-in-Chief’s Silver Medal. Cadet Ali Nauman was granted the Commandant’s Medal for the second best military student’s academics performance. The rector of National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Lt. Gen (Retd) Muhammad Asghar was the chief guest and Engineer-in-Chief Maj. Gen Taufiq Rafiq was the guest of honour.  Asghar spoke about how engineering as a discipline can help aid socioeconomic development.
