KARACHI: Pakistan number one Mohammad Asif and second-seed Asjad Iqbal have confirmed their places in the IBSF World Snooker Championship by moving into the quarter-finals of Lagnese 4th Ranking Snooker Cup being played at the NBP Sports Complex in Karachi. Asif said that having safely cemented his place in the world event, he now aims to win the title. “I came with a plan to first secure my berth in world championship, which has been achieved, and now I am aiming to end this event on a high by grabbing the crown,” Asif told The Express Tribune. Iqbal also expressed delight at representing Pakistan in the biggest event of all. “It’s a dream come true for me because as a player, you want to play in as many world championships as you can. This event gives you the chance to become a hero for your nation,” he said.
