Bypolls: PML-N, PPP select candidates

The PML-N and PPP declared their candidates for the PP-12 bypolls on Tuesday.

SIALKOT: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party declared their candidates for the PP-12 bypolls on Tuesday. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz ticket was handed to Chaudhry Akram. Akram is an industrialist and known to be a friend of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khwaja Asif. Chaudhry Abdul Jalil Bajwa, the chief executive of Aikal Surgical Industries and labour leader, said Akram was a good choice. He predicted a win for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate. He hoped that Akram will pay attention to the problems of the people of the city. He said that the constituency had traditionally been a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz stronghold and that they expected the candidate to serve the people well. Separately, the Pakistan People’s Party ticket for PP-12 was handed to the Pakistan People’s Party  Provincial Information Secretary Raja Aamir. Aamir was congratulated by local Pakistan People’s Party leaders Chaudhry Amanullah Cheema, Turaab Haider Bukhari, Chaudhry Rasheed Amhad Lodhra, Qaiser Qureshi, Ahsan Qureshi and Muneeb Gondal. They said the party had made the correct choice in selecting Aamir. They said he would be a strong candidate in the election.
