According to Express News bureau chief Amir Ilyas, the number of officers from Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is far greater than the number of officers from Sindh, Balochistan, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The ordinance, which is named Service of Pakistan 2012, will allow administrators of Sindh, Balochistan, Fata and G-B to recommend Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officers for induction in the bureaucracy.
The PCS officers will be inducted as 21 grade officers to the post of senior joint secretary or additional secretary.
