Family rivalry: Inmate kills half-brother in prison clash

LARKANA: A prisoner identified as Darya Khan Umrani was killed after a clash with his half-brother in Central Jail, Larkana, on Monday. The jail officials said that Darya was killed by his half-brother, Imdad Umrani, after he attacked Darya with a gas cylinder during an argument. He was taken to Chandka Medical College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The jail superintendent, Syed Aijaz Haider, told The Express Tribune that Darya was serving a sentence for drug trafficking while Imdad was jailed for committing a murder. He added that Imdad refused to speak on the matter. Both brothers were residents of Khedkar village near Larkana.
