Senate subcommittee: Steps for parity in education

Senate’s subcommittee directed concerned officials to ensure proper facilities at all girl schools and colleges.

ISLAMABAD: The Senate’s subcommittee in the cabinet secretariat directed the Federal Directorate of Education to ensure proper facilities at all girl schools and colleges. The subcommittee asked the FDE to try and maintain the same education standard in all its institutions. The meeting was informed that 76 posts lay vacant in the FDE whereas 178 people were working in deputation while 49 other officials also rendered services in other departments on deputation. FDE Director General Dr Shahnaz Anjum Riaz said that they were striving to maintain an equal standard in the overall education system and for the purpose they had planned on constructing 26 new buildings but the process was halted due to a lack of funds.
