QUETTA: Unidentified armed men shot dead a provincial leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) along with his two bodyguards in Hub, Balochistan, on Sunday.

According to the police, Qadir Zehri was travelling in his vehicle, when armed men on a motorbike opened indiscriminate fire on his vehicle on Sakuran Road.

Zehri and his two bodyguards died on the spot after succumbing to their wounds.

Their bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital.

According to sources, the deceased body guards were identified as Jamal and Aziz.

“The incident appears to be a case of target killing,” a police official said, adding that investigation into the incident was under way to unearth the motive behind the killing.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of this report.
