GHALLANAI: Two electricity towers were blown by unidentified assailants in Miangan near Mian Mandi Gandao, disrupting the power supply to Momad Gat grid station on Friday night. A Haleemzai political administration (PA)official told The Express Tribune that the explosion destroyed the lattice of the 66KV towers. The electricity supply to Safi and Nawagai has been disconnected as a result. The official also said that the Mohmand Agency PA launched a search operation in the area and arrested 10 suspects. This is the second intentional destruction of the electricity tower over the past two nights that has been disconnecting the supply to some parts of Mohmand Agency also  causing water shortage in various localities. “The Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company has started repair work on one of the towers that was targeted,” the official added. The administration has been asked to launch an inquiry into the blasts, as no groups or outfits have yet claimed responsibility for the incidents.
