An initial grant of Rs.1.2 million was approved.
FCCI President Mian Zahid Aslam said the programme will be increased later. He also said he was trying to raise the profile of the FCCI to get more representation for businessmen in government bodies.
Aslam said the shrinking of foreign trade volume was worrying. “How can the government expect its tax revenue to increase while businesses are collapsing,” he asked. He said he hoped to invite leaders of major political parties to the FCCI to ask them about their economic agenda.
