Food business: UAF to transfer modern technology

The latest lab equipment and food machinery is being imported from France under the project.

FAISALABAD: National Institute of Food Science and Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will establish a Food Technology Transfer Centre (FTTC) for providing training facilities to students, experts and workers in the food industry. Knowledge will be imparted in the field of dairy, baking, fats and oils and other products through state-of-the-art technology, UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan has said. Dr Khan said the food industry, as well as food businesses, are expanding due to globalisation, and providing skills to persons employed in the industry is needed in order to harmonise their professional capacity with international standards. The latest lab equipment and food machinery is being imported from France under the project.
