RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court on Thursday reserved judgement in a petition filed by students seeking degrees from UET Taxila instead of NUML. Six students of Army Public College of Management and Sciences (APCOMS) said they completed their Bachelors in electrical engineering from APCOM last year. They were issued provisional transcripts with registration numbers issued by UET. But when they asked for their degrees, the administration told them they could be issued degrees from National University of Modern Languages (NUML). The APCOM management said that the college was affiliated with NUML when the students were admitted. Only later did the college change its affiliation to UET Taxila, which is why these six students can be given degrees only from NUML. A UET lawyer said that students of affiliated colleges must stay under their supervision for at least one year. However these six students graduated before the said period and thus are not eligible for degrees from UET Taxila.
