Birthday: Seminar on Bhagat Singh today

Ajoka Theatre will screen a documentary it made about Bhagat Singh.

LAHORE: The birthday of legendary Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh will be marked with a seminar and documentary screening here on Friday, said the Bhagat Singh Memorial Committee Pakistan in a press release on Thursday. Singh was born in Jaranwala village in Lyallpur district on September 28, 1907. He was hanged in 1931 over the assassination of a British officer. The seminar will be held at the Dayal Singh Auditorium on Nisbat Road from 3pm. A 32-member Indian delegation will also participate. Ajoka Theatre will screen a documentary it made about Bhagat Singh. A birthday cake will be cut at 5:30pm at Shadman Chowk, which Singh’s admirers say should be renamed after the freedom fighter.
