FAISALABAD: A month-long eye examination camp will start at Darul Hikmat Darul Shifa Hospital on Sammundri Road on October 1, 2012. Organisers of the camp, Darul Ehsan, a charity organisation, have set a target of over 11,000 eye operations during the month-long clinic. A statement released to the media on Tuesday said 80 eye surgeons and 500 paramedical staff had offered to volunteer for the camp. It said meals and medicines would be provided free of charge to the patients. Those coming from other cities would also get free-of-charge accommodation. The statement said more than 484,000 operations had been carried out in 72 camps arranged by Darul Ehsan, a charity run by Mian Muhammad Shafi and Mian Najibullah, since 1976.
