Mazari was served a show-cause notice by the party administration after she had alleged that the “the party and its Chairman have been hijacked by feudals.”
In her messages posted on Twitter today, Mazari said, “The membership drive was hijacked by ‘big money’ this has compromised the party elections.”
Secretary General PTI Dr Arif Alvi emailed the show-cause issued to Mazari, which states that she “went public and gave interviews to the media only because [PTI chief] Imran Khan could not visit your camp.”
The notice states that Mazari’s “statements before the press were inaccurate, unfounded, and defamed the party and its leadership providing fuel to our political opponents to attack the party with more spurious allegations.”
The notice says that Mazari was informed about Khan’s flight delay and other engagements which kept him visiting the camp.
Mazari Tweeted that the PTI has “changed its principles and brought in intermediaries and that she was not planning on joining another party.”
Mazari also expressed discontentment in her tweets saying “the way they [PTI] treated my daughter on twitter, abusing her over my remarks, is unacceptable.”
She said that she was “not raising allegations” against party chief Imran Khan’s “character”, but that the party principles “had been forgone.”
Mazari said, “I am ready to serve PTI again if the party lives up to its principles.”
Jalil Ahmad Sharkpuri has replaced Mazari.

PTI proves that it stands for "Pasha Tehrik-e-Infaaq" to break away the right votebank with the collussion of ISI and PPP govt. It is good for the country that Pasha Tehrik-e-Infaaq is dying its natural death before casuing any real harm to Pakistan.
People forget no matter what party you make or join, Pakistanis will spoil it for personal ego.
good decsion well done PTI is all beggar party now
Poor are leaving and Rich are hijacking PTI...
What's happening IK?? Please don't shatter our dreams which we have associated with you for a better and successful Pakistan. I wish you luck!
IK what's happening??
Tsunami phoosssss...PTI the difused bomb.
What's next:"Imran Khan resigns from PTI!"
All the old guards should remain steadfast as there is no point in fearing the new entrants. I am sure time for them will come and their space in PTI is always big and great.
Yeah Yeah Yeah PML (N) and PPP are awesome...and how can we forget the leftist ANP or MQM
She could quit without staging show but she perhapes needs cheap populraity, during Musharraf's era she was glorified and succeeded to get exemption also her brother. Isn't discipline violation to make hue and cry without talking with the party leaders, soon peopel will come know about her another announcement, will join and enjoy PML-N. Imran Khan 's decision to give her slot in PTI was wrong, he should examine the person's background carefully. He should not impress by fame-degree and oily tongue etc.
Her only identity to project "DEEP State Agenda", seems PTI has no support from DEEP state forces. Good for PTI and it can learn self reliance.
PTI is a party of elities and most of the times our mean elite class members behave worst than animals in political fight over very petty interests. This aspect is reflective in the culture and working of PTI. IK is a shrewed fellow and desperate for power to prove his former in-laws that he was the right choice for their daughter. So we should be excited about more surprises and turbulent upheavals forthcoming for PTI lovers. Please do not presume that I am fan of Nawaz or PPP club. I am no one except an ordinary Paki!
As everyday passes PTI looks less like a political party and more of a cult. Do PTI hooligans understand the concept of democracy at all? They sound less like political workers and more like bigots chanting hate and death slogan against anyone who would as much as mildly criticize their leader.
P.S. N-League enthusiasts, please don't jump at the comment - for your own agendas are extremely biased and narrow.
This is change. No one above the law regardless of his/her status. She criticized her own party in public and rightly got the show cause notice. Whether she was good or bad for the party is beside the point.
A huge weight has been lifted off PTI's shoulders... PTI looks much more respectable now with the egoistic attention seeker gone. I heard that her daughter had left PTI recently as well. What a week of good fortune for PTI, with all the stink gone out of the party now!
Imran khan should be chairman of PAkistan cricket board.he is not A political horse.
I'm hardly a fan of Shireen Mazari, as she has not only been a frantic establishment wonk but has obsessively parroted the nonsensical 'national ideology' line which has been so damaging for the country. Having said that, sending a 'show cause' notice is no more than a piece of bureaucratic nonsense dating from the British Raj era. If PTI claims to be a modern party, the political dentist Arif Alvi could have been a bit more imaginative. At the very least, considering Ms Mazari's senior rank within the party, he could have telephoned her and politely demanded an explanation for her outburst against the party leadership.
in the making of a good team things like this are normal, get ur heads round it guys
good decision by her, imran khan has got now millionaires he is a part of status quo .. he is traditional politician, i was his voter but not anymore, he is a liar . GA ANP
Ms. Mazari - which party you will join now... ?? please don't say PLMN... :P
i don't think that leaving one member though has a good reputation can damage party. it astonish me to see people saying that tsunami is receding but i personally of the opinion that party is getting more maturity with each passing day.. those can see who have visions..Imran is playing very well.......Happy to see the rising storm..
I wonder why the news of people joining PTI dont make such headlines. "Recently, former MNA Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Jalil Ahmad Sharkpuri, founding member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Ahsanul Haq, PPP ticket holder Hafiz Abdul Rehman Saahi, senior Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chaundhry Waheed Uddin and Farooqabad nazim Sabir Hussain Bhatti joined the PTI." (Source: www.tribune.com.pk)
So, in IK's words she is an "opportunist leaving party". Well in PTI joiners are stalwarts of other parties aka big wickets and leavers are lotas/opportunists/traitors!!!! What a party? Hypocricy and emotionalism at its extreme.
PTI supporters were constantly embarrassed by the way Imaan Hazir Mazari and Shireen Mazari used to go public with their differences with the party on twitter. Shireen Mazari was feeling so much insecure because of the new entrants. Instead of competing with them on merit she wanted to be given importance just because she was associated with the party long before they joined. This is not the what meritocracy demands. What if Asad Umar has just joined PTI, he is much more talented and dedicated to the cause of PTI than her. More over she is not the founding member of PTI, she joined PTI after 2008.
Official response from PTI: http://www.saach.tv/2012/09/26/pti-responds-to-mazaris-resignation/
I remember this lady. When I started visiting Pakistani online newspapers, I sometimes used to read her articles. Her articles were so shrill that I used to put cotton in my ears while reading it. After finishing the article I used to bang my head on the wall.
Really sad to hear this news, I hope amendments are made to the policies and Shren Mazari is brought back.
I am a big critic of PTI. But in the last few days a few good things have happened in that party and this is one of them. Shireen Mizari was the reactionary face of the party. Good riddance.
Why the people are not looking on IK's firm stance on merit. PTI does not care if somebody comes or leave the party. It will emerge more cleaner in the elections and it is better for PTI to corrupt people leave them before the polls. But this case is different, Imran should personally look into the matter.
@Raw is War: tussnami?
You mean thussnami ? :)
Khan sb. You are our hero, personally i am indebeted as my mother was treated in Skhanum when we could not afford it. But Sir, With all due respect you have been trapped and hijacked by corrupt mafia. They have failed every one in past and same they wish for you.
Sir i remember your statment when you said a night before election in 2002. " i know i wll lose next election or may never win election but when i will satnd infront of ALLAH and he will ask me Khan waht you did i will reply i tried".
That is all sir,
@Anonymous:
Shireen Mazari is a feudal too.She got 3000 plus acrs of land . she resigned becuase of her daughter, Only last week she was praising Ik on twitter. I don't see any strong reason for her resignation. Ik was great leader until he coud not visit Rajanpur last week. Becuase people were abusive to her daughter she left PTI other than that i dont see any specific strong reason for her resignation. Many people joined PTI yesterday and many more joined today . only one person left today.
tussnami?
Hahaha double-faced Pakistanis! going through the comments i noticed a drastic change in the views of the lovers of PTI! Bails are off for IK!
The old workers of PTI can bring her back and if she did not resign only on the reasons of ticket or any other post and if she resigned on pricipls, she should be brought back. Khan should also rethink his strategy.
I saw couple of her talk shows before she joined PTI. I must say "Good Riddance!" on her decision to quit the party.
whi is this lady is she that important
Tsunami sada sher aay, Baqi hayr phair aay. Tsunami Sada Sher aay.
Imran Khan spent his life fighting to improve the political sense of donkeys like us. He will remain credible and die as someone known for his credibility.
We will listen to Bilawal and his kids , Bhutto aaj bhi zinda hay.
Publish it.ET.
@Ch. Allah Daad: You are right. Now PPP will begin to panic as they see their secret weapon (IK) weakening everyday. .
hahhahahhahahhahahhahaha!!!!!! And THIS is why i never took PTI seriously. Politicians are not cricketers, Imran should stick to charity. He cant handle politics.
CONCERN..........
“The membership drive was hijacked by ‘big money’ this has compromised the party elections
I am not concern with personalities leave or join my party but am asking you where is party elections .............
I thought Shireen was more forward thinking than this. In politics you must always keep a cool mind under extreme pressure. The incident in question was no where near the problems Pakistan is currently facing. If , after the elections she has concerns then i would have thought that the structures in the PTI machinery was well equipped to manage conflict in the party.
Sad to see that she could not handle the pressure. She would have become possibly Minister of Foreign Affairs. would she then collapse under pressure.
Now is the time when the boys separate from the men !
I dont like S Mazari but she is quite spot-on in highlighting that PTI appears to be attracting all those that served in other "status-quo" governments as ministers and parliamentarians with very ordinary reputation and with shoddy performance. That status-quo needs to be changed will not be changed by these previously-failed crop of politicians.
Let me ask all the PTI supporters and IK.
If you talk of the change and challenge the status-quo, then why on earth would you not get the youth of this country nominations and tickets ?? Why would you not ask the academics and eminent young people and successful entrepreneurs to represent PTI ??
Pls answer
Nice Decision, I was puzzled how a secular woman joined such an extremist like minded PTI. Long Live Shireen Mazari
This event very clearly indicates the difference in the character of people who stand for principles - in this case Miss Shireen Mizari - and the people who are working for their vested interests -majority iof the people who have joined PTI recently.
Yesterday Imran stated that he will contest election "Alone" We thought that he meant, "without coalition partners". Now its clear what he meant, he will be the only contender from PTI's plateform.
I honestly dont know which one is better off having being rid of the other ! PTI or Mazari..
For me, they both are almost 'identical'..
This Tsunami appears to be heading back to the sea.. !!
There we are... not a single line reported from PTI Health policy. Now this makes a headline on PMLN tribune.
@Tariq Bajwa: She's NOT in the founding members of PTI my friend.. she Joined in 2008 :-) peace
IK will be wandering around on the roads in search of tsunami very soon
So it took you this long to realize that the bearers of CHANGE have CHANGED......
She saved herself from future embarrassments. PML(N) would like to welcome her
In a true democratic party, instead of a show cause notice, her reservations should have been addressed. She had an opinion and for that, she was replaced instantly. This shows lack of political maturity and an embargo on freedom of expression in PTI. Many Labour MP's were critical of the war that their leader Tony Blair - it would not work out in a true democratic system if he just kicked people out of the party because they wanted an improvement.
PTI needs to start understanding the true manifestations of democracy. Members have a right to voice their concerns. Imran Khan might not want to have a say in who joins his party and when, but others want to voice their true opinion. This is the beauty of democracy. Without that, PTI will be another 111 brigade in the disguise of a political party, backed by the youth that is desperate to find an alternative
PTI zindabad.
Turn-coat Tsunami will eventually change the old guard, may be IK as well :D
very good decsion shareen, PTI has gone to feudals and one day captin tsunami will also leave this party saying, 'landlords have left no room for him'
Workers are going leader are comming , i never trust IK as a leader
very well decision/ You proved to be a patriot
Not a good news for PTI. I hope she will be back soon!
I actually feel sad for those who leave PTI, not that im a supporter of PTI, its just that the way they are mud slinged and trash talked once they leave is so pathetic. PTI is like a mafia, if you join them, you're family, if u leave them, ure dead!
The party which claims to be democratic , not a one man party, has kicked out a founding member for raising her voice. whats the difference between zardair, sharif and khan?
so much for a tsunami. kicking out the loyalists and bringing in the lotas
. With the Departure of Madam Mazari the PTI has lost its Sweetness of the Jalebi and all that remains is the Bitterness of the Aloe. . I wish Madam Mazari the best of Success in her future Politcal Ventures . Cheers
:(, with mazari out, PTI seems to have lost a gem, I wish she will come back to the party and serve, she was the initial partner of imran khan for a long time, and these internet trollers!!! get a life
Sana Bucha has booked her for interview on Friday!!
@Sheharyar: It may not make difference as Mazari was not a political heavy weight, but the perception in public eyes of the party might be changing. The voter of PTI is mostly a right winger, who thrives in despising liberal, secular, and left leaning parties, the common trait with PML-N voter. If the perception grows that tsunami is going down, this voter may shift loyalties to the PML-N despite its corruption.
Shirin Mazari's doctrine- GHQ first.Stratagic depth blah blah.
she will be back to PTI ... pretty soon..
SO basically she resigned because she was asked to explain her rationale for violating party's discipline.
We trust IK ...why she gave statement against PTI policies
Well PTI already made it very clear that anyone who comes in the way will be removed. So party discipline cannot be compromised at any cost if u have personal differences than you should not solve over media.
So typical of our leaders....with responsibility, they do not want to be held accountable for anything.
PTI is neglecting its ideological members and leaders. The party is destined to a catastrophe.
Ms Mazari was a party stalwart and an asset and efforts should be made to bring her back. I am a PTI supporter and would caution the party leadership to take Ms Mazari's statements seriously. Introspection is key.
Won't make any difference to PTI
Ms Mazari is one of the staunchest "Pro-establishment". Her exit means PTI is no longer "most favoured party" of the all powerful establishment.
How can I expect PTI to sort out the country's political system when their own internal politics is in such shambles? Time and again their own members have come out to criticise the two-faced policies and loss of directions publicly that plagues the internals of the party.
Blessing in disguise!!
so this is just a beginning?
Filtration process has been initiated even before party elections. Although one feels sad about one old member however its a healthy process and party will get stronger and stronger as we come near to the party elections. After all its democracy at its best. PTI Zindabad Pakistan Paindabad! Geo Imran Humari Shaan!
And so it all begins to fall apart, Like a pack of cards!
Good riddance!
Good riddance! (for Shireen)
Now No pakistani will trust a politician! We didn't expect that you Mr. Khan! Very good. PTI
Reverse counting is going good.
Good riddance!! (for Shireen)
Whos is this lady? Whether she has a vote in support of her in Pakistan.
Good now maybe PTI will be less right leaning and come into the mainstream thanks Ms Mizari's policies they had been supporting the taliban ideology.
Guess one day IK will himself leave PTI :)
Another catch drop captain of PTI,
I believe now is the IK should come forward and talk to everyone who seems to be unhappy with the party. Mazari has contributed a lot to PTI's success and should be brought back to the party ASAP.
...this is definitely not the start of the recent spate of resignations which has hit PTI....had the party been awake, they might have seen this coming, but no, PTI and its management are all on a different agenda which has nothing to do with change, but the short change coming from "unknown" sources!
Oh! The lady back to the pavilion.
Brave and correct decision ! Never thought one day I will be cheering for Ms Mazari.
