LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court seeking contempt of court proceedings against Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her secretary for briefing the UN Commission on missing persons. Petitioner Advocate Sarfaraz Hussain submitted that the matter of missing persons was pending before the court. He said in such circumstances, arrival of the UN Commission in Pakistan and briefing the minister and her secretary was tantamount to contempt of court. He submitted that the UN Commission and the minister tried to influence the court by this step. He appealed to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the minister and her secretary so that the matter of missing persons can be dealt with impartially.
