Illegal hunting: Wildlife officials seize game trophies

KARACHI: Wildlife officials seized 12 chukar partridges (chakor), 250 sparrows and more than 50 skins and trophies of different wild animals and birds from shops in Saddar on Tuesday. The officials raided several shops along the Zaibunnisa Street and at Rehman Centre near theEmpress Market. The wildlife species are protected under the wildlife act and were hunted illegally, said game inspector Bashir Shaikh. Two employees, Arshad Ali and Chaman, were arrested. Two others were taken into custody for not having the licences for the birds.
