Taxpayers in the federal capital will receive a 5% rebate if they pay their property taxes and other arrears before Sunday, September 30, said a press release issued by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday.

September 30 is also the last date for payment of property taxes and taxpayers will incur a monthly surcharge at the rate of 1.5% of payable amount if they fail to meet the deadline, CDA spokesperson Ramzan Sajid said.

In a meeting on Tuesday, CDA chairperson Farkhand Iqbal ordered the CDA tax collectors to issue notices to the defaulters and take action against them if they fail to pay taxes within the specified time, according to the press release.

The CDA has been facing financial difficulties of late and property taxes form an important part of its revenues. The property taxes can be paid at CDA’s Revenue Directorate located inside the CDA Academy Training building near Iqbal Hall in sector G-7/4.
