Ephedrine case: SC extends interim bail of Shahabuddin, Ali Musa

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court, while hearing the ephedrine quota allotment case, extended interim bail of former federal minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin and Ali Musa Gilani till October 11, Express News reported on Tuesday.

A three-member bench led by Justice Nasirul Mulk had accepted Ali Musa’s pre-arrest bail on September 14 against two surety bonds of Rs.0.5 million each.

The petitions filed by Ali Musa against the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) for contempt of court have also been linked in with the same case.

Ali Musa was arrested on September 13 from the gate of the country’s apex court by ANF officials, who were later reprimanded for their actions.

The Supreme Court had allowed Ali Musa’s counsel to file an application against ANF’s conduct.

I totally agree with the comment of Afaaq. Justice delayed is justice denied. There is a lot of sound and fury but the end result is NIL. If the likes of Gilani and Shahabuddin are really made an example, then we will see how much muscle the Supreme Court really has.

Look at the smile on his face. Looks like he's won the World Cup or something. Sad state of affairs. These courts just seem to drag on issues without solving anything. How long does it take to write a letter? The court could easily have called for the letter to be written inside the court in front if the bench. Similarly other cases have been dragged on, without any major player of corruption from any party getting sentenced.
