LAHORE: The Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF) has appealed to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammd Chaudhry to restore Dr Babar Awan’s licence to practice or refer the matter to the Pakistan Bar Council. The PLF said this in a meeting held with its secretary general Mian Wasim Shahabi on Monday. Shahabi said suspending Awan’s licence for an indefinite period was illegal and the SC should immediately resolve the matter. On January 17, the apex court suspended Awan’s practice licence in a contempt of court case against him.
