Crime: Woman killed in sleep

Family suspects involvement of some rivals in the killing, but have not named any one yet, Balochni SHO.

FAISALABAD: A woman was shot dead in her sleep on Monday in Balochni area. Police said Shafqat Bibi, 40, wife of Muhammad Malik, a resident of Madoana Town, was shot dead by unidentified assailants, who broke into her house at dawn. On hearing the shots, the family rushed to her room, but the assailants fled away. The injured woman was taken to a hospital but died on the way. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Balochni station house officer said the family suspects involvement of some rivals in the killing, but have not named any one yet.
