3 policemen injured in Nowshera bomb blast

Prisoners were allegedly targeted in the attack, none were harmed. Injured shifted to district hospital

NOWSHERA: Three police personnel have been injured in a remote-controlled bomb attack near the Rashakai interchange in Nowshera early Monday morning, Express News reported.

According to the police, a mobile was transporting prisoners back to Mardan from Nowshera after presenting them in court for a case hearing when the blast occurred.

According to initial reports, the prisoners were allegedly targeted. None of the prisoners were harmed in the blast and were being transported to a jail in Mardan.

The injured police personnel have been shifted to the district hospital.

Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating the incident.

The situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has been volatile recently with several blasts taking place in the province, including an attack on the police in Nowshera in June, which injured six personnel.
