Breach plugged: Water shortage may hit the city

Heavy machinery was moved to the site and work started on plugging the breach.

KARACHI: The breach in the Hub canal will be plugged, but it will affect the water supply to the city for the next couple of days, said Karachi commissioner Roshan Ali Shaikh on Sunday. He added that the Sindh governor, Dr Ishratul Ebad, had asked him to ensure that the breach was plugged and that the water supply was restored. Heavy machinery was moved to the site and work started on plugging the breach.
