Captain, others questioned in match fixing scandal

Yawar Saeed said that the players had been questioned and had their cell phones confiscated by police.

Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed said police had questioned captain Salman Butt, pace bowlers Mohammad Aamer and Mohammad Asif and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal at the team's London hotel.

Yawar Saeed, speaking at a Lord's news conference alongside Butt, told reporters: "As far as the allegations are concerned, I would still call them allegations.

"It's not really for me within 24 hours to pass a judgment on whether they are true or not."

In a separate interview, Yawar said the mobile phones of Butt, Amir and Asif had been confiscated by the police.

Is he looking in the camera cos he knows its there? how can the camera angle change during the video, given that it was fixed there? Hopin n prayin for the best!!!!!

Syed A. Mateen | 14 years ago | Reply The entire Pakistani Cricket Team should be questioned when they land in the country. People of Pakistan have lost faith in the entire Pakistani Cricket Team. The international electronic media has shown the footage and the print media is full of stories as how Pakistani Cricket Team fixed the match against the illegal gratification. Players invloved in match fixing should be banned for the entire life from playing not only international matches but also at the national level within the country. No excuse will be acceptable for selling Pakistan's interest against the 150,000 British Pounds received by the cricketers. Moreover, cases should be instituted in the court of law and players invloved in match fixing should be punished severly, so that no other player playing on behalf of Pakistan should ever think and imagine for fixing cricket match in future. Pakistan is full of potential. We can have lot of more players who should be inducted by taking trails in the entire country to induct them in the new Pakistani Cricket Team.
