KARACHI:

Culling of thousands of allegedly infected sheep has been stopped immediately after an inquiry committee found that the animals imported from Australia are not infected with Anthrax.

A five-member committee, which was formed on Saturday evening under the directives of the Sindh High Court (SHC), inspected the Australian sheep and found them free of Anthrax. The committee – headed by a professor of the Dow University of Health Sciences – was tasked with inspecting the allegedly infected sheep and presenting its report to the SHC within four hours. Subsequently, the culling of the sheep has been stopped with immediate effect.
