A spokesperson of ministry of Interior late on Saturday refuted media reports attributed to Malik about dual national parliamentarians and clarified that the minister did not state that he had a definite list of parliamentarians having dual nationality.
The spokesperson added that the minister for interior had responded to a question from a journalist, stating, "I cannot say anything on such data as the information is merely on hear say and hence, I cannot make public such information."
The ministry maintained that neither Malik has got any list of parliamentarians with dual nationality nor any such data has been collected.
The election commission of Pakistan is the highest forum to respond to such queries, added the spokesperson.
Earlier, the Supreme Court wrote a letter to Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday asking him to reveal names of parliamentarians who hold dual nationalities, reported Express News.
The letter was written after news emerged in the media of Malik claiming that he knows about several parliamentarians with dual nationalities. The apex court said that it was Malik’s constitutional responsibility to reveal the names as loyalty to the country is obligatory for every citizen under Article 5 of the Constitution.

How Supreme Court can ask a person for submission of information for which it had passed a order:
“Mr A Rehman Malik, in view of the false declaration filed by him at the time of contesting the election to the Senate in 2008, cannot be considered sagacious, righteous, honest and ameen within the contemplation of section 99(1)(f) of the Act of 1976,”
Kindly read it with the relavant provsions of Qanoon e Shahadat.
This information is not on hearsay Mr. Malik. You are the Federal Interior Minister for the last five years and it is your duty to know this. All the 'home runner' politicians have come back.
Sheltering other dual nationalities and providing them parliamentary, State, and government jobs is an anti-state activity. But this is Pakistan and fraud, hoodwinking, overt violation of article 184 among others is like getting up and yawning first thing in the morning. All shady deals take place here and blackguards are 'hand in glove' with the other freeloader.
Please do your duty to Pakistan and not to the party. Salams.
Pity the nation that has judges which imprisoned Faiz Ahmed Faiz on fabricated conspiracy charges, declared Mujeeb ur Rehman traitor, hanged Z A Bhutto, disqualified number of parliamentarians; and at the same time gave sanctity to the uniformed presidents all they needed, and acquit sectarian killers.
