Regulation: 33 factories asked to relocate

The factories had been directed to ensure that adequate safety arrangements were in installed at their new premises.

BAHAWALPUR: As many as 33 factories in Bahawalpur were on Saturday directed to move out of residential areas. A Civil Defence Dept official said notices were served on these factories on the directives of the provincial government in the wake of the fires in factories of Lahore and Karachi. He said the factories had also been directed to ensure that adequate safety arrangements were in installed at their new premises. He said notices had also been served on hotels, restaurants, compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) filling stations, hospitals, shops and other factories to ensure safety arrangements at their premises.
