Seventeen culprits of Sialkot lynching in custody

Seventeen of the eighteen culprits of the Sialkot lynching have been arrested.

This was stated by Additional IG Mushtaq Sukhera while addressing a press conference in Sialkot on Sunday. Sukhera, who is heading the joint investigation team probing the incident, said that said that six out of ten police officials involved have voluntarily surrendered and would be arrested on Monday.

The Additional IG said that the remand of the culprits along with recording their statements would be carried out tomorrow, which will conclude the investigation.

He said the incident has damaged the image of police and Pakistan in the eyes of the world. Sukhera also praised Sialkot police for their efforts under the DPO's supervision in making headway in the case.

He said the investigation team has probed the incident on merit and justice.

s butt | 14 years ago | Reply i am british born of pakistani ethnicity. I like every person who knows of this deeply believe that the culprits should be hanged for this crime. According to pakistani law if the corrupt officials do not take bribes will be hanged because this is 1st degree murder of the highest kind and there is enough evidence to prove this now.
