Investigation Officer (IO) Munir Jaffri submitted the interim charge-sheet and said that three eyewitness had recorded their statements again him so he is found guilty. Report was submitted under section 173 CrPC and Jadoon was charged under section 295-B and 196 PPC.
District Attorney (DA) Mehfooz Paracha had initially raised objection over the charge-sheet but later signed the challan along with his note of objections.
Due to the absence of a civil judge, the charge-sheet was submitted before District and Sessions Judge Raja Jawad Abbas. The case was adjourned till September, 24.
Earlier, Civil Judge Muhammad Amir Aziz was irked over the inordinate delay in the presentation of the charge-sheet by IO Jaffri. The court had directed the Superintendent of Police to submit it.
Rimsha was arrested in a poor suburb of Islamabad on August 16 after a neighbour accused her of burning papers containing verses from the Quran, in breach of Pakistan’s strict blasphemy laws.
On September 7, the court had granted bail to Rimsha against two surety bonds of Rs500,000 each. She was then transported by a helicopter to an undisclosed location after her release from jail.

@Rahim: Blasphemy Law...That law is there for Non-Muslims right!!!!!
Wrong...! Read it and before you comment on it...!!!
Now I think that culprit Molvi should be charged under Blasphemy Law and stonned to death, but hang on, am I crazy??? That law is there for Non-Muslims right!!!!! What a Shame..... Sorry minorities of Pakistan!!! I feel ashamed of the crap going on in my beloved country.
The police is supposed to cut an FIR. The judge decides.who is guilty. In cleric is guilty of perjury
put him in solitary confinement for rest of his life. No connection to the outside world.
Justice will only be served when this man is punished and quickly, so that it is seen that justice has been done. The three witnesses deserve credit and let us hope that they do not turn hostile once they are threatened, which will happen as per past history.
bring him on tv and make him apologise, then get him to acknowledge that there indeed is no death penalty for blasphemy and get one of his kind to pass a decree on it. If he still insists upon carrying the lie, then take him to gallows by all means.
This is the land of the pure (only for Mullahs).
The cleric has committed blasphemy instead of the girl who was accused of the same so he should be hanged.
The Malvi should also be tried for attempted murder as he has surely destroyed her life
I think noone is looking at the big picture....
This mullah is just the tip of the iceberg.... There is a deep conspiracy behind it (Yeah,I too can talk conspiracy theory)
This mullah and his group wanted to drive out the christians from their area,so they chose a girl affected by Down Syndrome so that she cannot explain properly and planted the case...
Didnt the christians in that area runaway from their house??
Just like the "so-called love marriages" of Hindu girls, this case should be examined deeper to find all the perpetrators....I'm sure a local politician would have been involved
Where are protesters against the preacher now? 100+people protested against the christians when Rimsha was falsely accused.
Will the family of the cleric be subject to the similar threatening attitude and fear of social ostracism? Or is such reaction only reserved for minorities? Where are the usual agitators who are supposedly roused into a frenzy? Are their feeling only hurt when false accusations are levelled against a citizen belonging to the minority faiths? Compare the deafening silence at this point in time when the cleric - the primary accuser- is found guilty by a proper inquiry with the loud, hostile and life threatening reaction at the time an innocent girl was falsely accused for the same crime. Why the disparity? Can we sum this up to the fact that a lot is to do with the helplessness of a community, the fear of mob's lynch mentality, widespread hypocrisy that is taking over the nation, as a whole and cowardice.
Good example of why Blasphemy laws are dangerous and s/b eliminated -- also good reason why the UN will turn a deaf ear to Pakistan's request for international blasphemy laws.
No protests against this stupidity of some 14 year old girl being treated as such?
