Protest losses: Ashraf discusses the situation with CMs

Prime minister directed the chief ministers to keep a strict eye on miscreants and the subversive elements.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaz Ashraf on Friday evening spoke to the chief ministers of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh and discussed with them the law and order situation on the occasion of Youm-e-Ishq-Rasool as the protests took an ugly turn resulting in loss of life and property of the people.

Shahbaz Sharif, Amir Haider Khan Hoti and Syed Qaim Ali Shah told the prime minister that they were taking all possible measures to ensure the safety and security of the lives and property of the people.

The prime minister directed the chief ministers to keep a strict eye on miscreants and the subversive elements who want to exploit the situation and create a law and order situation for their personal gains and ulterior motives. T

he prime minister also directed the chief ministers to solicit the good offices of Ulema and Mashaikh and utilise their services to imbue in the people the teachings of Islam and message of peace and harmony given by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The prime minister is in continuous contact with the provincial governments and is monitoring the situation closely.
