Missing the IPL a blessing: Afridi

LAHORE: T20 captain Shahid Afrid believes that not being selected to play in the IPL has been a "blessing in disguise" for his players.

Afridi feels his side badly needed a break after the disastrous tour to Australia. He insists missing the IPL has actually helped the team train better for the World Twenty20.

Pakistan's cricketers were unanimously cold-shouldered by IPL franchises despite being put up for auction before the current season of the tournament.

This was the second successive year that Pakistan players missed out on the IPL. Afridi has said the issue was now behind him and he was focused on the World T20.
