It is encouraging to see that people in power are being questioned and punished for their abuse of the same.
KARACHI: This is with reference to a news item, which appeared in several national dailies on September 16. Six police officials were terminated after they manhandled an army officer in Faisalabad. It is encouraging to see that people in power are being questioned and punished for their abuse of the same — yet, one cannot help but think whether the action was taken (perhaps, only) because the victim was an army officer. I hope that the authorities would be equally responsive and efficient in their duties when handling similar complaints from ordinary citizens.
