Nine people, including three Levies personnel who were escorting the pilgrims, were injured in the incident. They have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
Eyewitnesses said that the bus caught fire immediately after the blast, and the bodies of the three people killed are still inside the bus.
Fire brigade officials also reached the site and managed to put off the fire but the bodies from the bus have not been recovered yet.
Deputy Commissioner Mastung told Express News that when officials reached the site, the injured were sitting at the roadside who said that around 10-15 people were onboard the bus which was coming from Taftan.
He added that the nature of the blast could not be known as yet as the Bomb Disposal Squad had not reached the site.
In Mastung, several people, particularly of the Shia community, have been targeted in the past.
Last week, 10 labourers were killed and four injured when assailants sprayed bullets at workers in the Dasht area of Mastung district. According to one witness, the labourers were lined up and then shot.

A Rwanda in making where Hutu and Tutsi killed each other in mistrust.
Off course it is foreign hand. one thing is sure, it was no Muslim or Pakistani involved, because we were all busy protesting against US and Burma.
Oh Almighty God/Allah/Bhagwan Please help us. This is not the Pakistan where i grew up !! Shias are also your Followers Please come one more time on earth, this time in Pakistan to save us .
@Jihad Bil-Qalam. You can give it some time but unfortunately for us shias, the story will be the same. Always the victims are shias. But do come back mr. Jihad once other agencies also verify the killings and give us your input.
How unfortunate? May Allah show the perpetrators of the attack the right path and save this only nuclear Muslim country from the menace of sectarianism.
Let's blame the foreign hand and close the investigation as well as our eyes and mind too. In case police dare to catch any culprit, our courts are there to defend the terrorists.
No protest or posting here. Just shias getting killed..you know .....internal family affairs...muslim brothers killing their muslim brothers. Besides, we people are busy burning us flags, tyres, consulates and our own public property because one deranged US non-muslim had uploaded a silly viedo on youtube. Also, we are busy asking US to amend their constitution. Khuda hafiz....err...Allah hafiz.
Yet another horrific atrocity took place against the defenseless and innocent Shia Muslims.
The news was posted only 10 minutes ago. There are no details available on the nature of the blast and the people who were killed. Let me make a big guess. I think they were Shias.
So much peace and love everywhere that it has begun to hurt. And Pakistanis, we have seriously begun to worry now.
