Within a span of 10 days, at least three Ahmadis have reportedly been shot dead in the city. The youngster was the sixth Ahmadiyya community member to be gunned down in the metropolis this year allegedly because of his faith.
Ahmad and his 45-year-old brother-in-law Shams Fakhri were returning home after closing their general store when two armed attackers sprayed them with bullets. While Ahmad died on the spot, Fakhri was hit by five bullets. He is battling for his life at a private hospital.
The family was frequently called “Kafir” (non-Muslim) by people in the neighbourhood, according to Ahmad’s elder brother Umair. But he had never thought that his youngest brother may be killed one day. “There is no doubt that my brother was killed because of his faith,” Umair told The Express Tribune. “We had no personal enmity with anyone.”
“I was locking the gate of the store from one side after Ahmad had shut the store from the other side. Minutes later, I heard gunshots and people informed me that Ahmad had been shot,” he said. Although the police were standing nearby when his brother was attacked, they did not do anything, Umair said. “Instead of saving my brother, they ran away.”
All seven brothers, including Ahmad, ran the general store located just a few blocks away from their house in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
For a while now, clerics at a certain mosque in the area have been delivering hateful sermons against the Ahmadi community, Umair alleged.
The first such incident this month took place on September 7 when a 36-year-old government school teacher, Abdul Ghaffar, was gunned down in Chakiwara, Lyari while on his way home. On September 12, an Ahmadi police constable, Muhammad Nawaz, was targeted in Orangi Town.
The police have failed to arrest any criminal involved in such attacks, said Masood Ahmad, a senior Ahmadiyya community member. “In Orangi Town, our houses are being pelted with rocks. In Gulistan-e-Jauher, anti-Ahmadi pamphlets are being distributed and in Baldia Town, roadside graffiti calling us non-Muslims has come up.”
The recent killings have sowed fear among the Ahmadis in Karachi, who have restricted their movements or take different routes when going out. “The criminals want to hurt the community financially,” said Masood Ahmad. Condemning the incident, the spokesperson for the Jama’at Ahmadiyya Pakistan, Saleemuddin, urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate the attack.
“The community has as much the right to live in this country as the other communities,” he said. “Ahmad was killed at an age when he should have been serving the country.”

Muhammad pbuh and Quran says people who don't fight with you then you should not fight or kill them.
Remember one thing.... It is Pakistanis and Pakistani Gov't constitution that facilitates such killings of Ahmadis particularly. As far as religion of Islam is concerned it's purest form can be seen by the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Holy Qur`an. Do not judge Islam by acts of so called Muslims who are killing fellow citizens (so called because they don't know Islamic teachings otherwise they wouldn't have done that). Once Again, Islam is peaceful, loving and is universal religion... It has no room for violence whatsoever... And Ahmadi's are among those who are truly portraying the true picture of Islam... When 84 Ahmadis were killed in Lahore in 2010, did they come out to streets? NO... they create any trouble for Government or officials despite the fact that shooters captured were released by police... Anyhow... point is those who think they are killing for the sake of Islam NEED TO BE TAUGHT by some sane scholars not Illiterate Mullah... Anyhow... those illiterate would never read this... Shame...
The Government of Pakistan should abrogate this barbaric law called blasphemy law and allow peace to reign in their country.Killing innocent people in the name of religion is not part of Islam. Islam stands for peace. They should fear God and allow their citizens to practice their chosen religion the way they understand it.All these killings are government sponsored-killings through the enactment of the blasphemy law.According to the holy Quran, killing of a single soul unjustly, like what is happening in Pakistan today, is like killing the whole human beings.God is watching and He will certainly deal with all these criminals. This is very sad Muslims are killing Muslims because of minor doctrinal differences. It is a shame on a country calling herself an Islamic country! May Allah forgive and have mercy on all those that have been killed because of their faith, Ameen.
totally agree with Karachities... If any Shia or Sunni personal die, do any one blame Ahmadi for that... People from every background are being targeted... Blaming Muslims without any proof is rubbish

But how it has been assumed that a muslim killed him and suppose if a muslim killed him, what as the motive behind the murder. In some years, if some ahmedi will die by any disease, the muslims will be given blame for that.
This is a sad day for all of us but for the Pakistanis in general, this is a day to think upon. On one side, these people who claim to carry huge love for the Prophet (P.B.U.H) in their hearts are protesting against US for making that film and on the other side, they are killing the innocent people on the name of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). This is contradictory. If they really love Allah and Prophet (P.B.U.H), then why they are not following The Holy teachings???? Do they think that Allah and His Prophet (P.B.U.H) will be pleased on their actions of killing innocent people and destroying the image of Islam in the world????? Do they think that the image of Islam will become positive in front of the world after their brutal actions of killing people???? This is the time to think for the Muslims of the world. May Allah show them the right path.Ameen.
i wonder how these anti ahmadi so called pakistani muslims have reached the limit of hatered against innocent, sorrow stricken Ahmadies that they feel pride in killing them brutly!!! These people are religious biased and act entirely opposite to the teachings of ISLAM ,islam which actually promotes peace and love as do Ahmadi Muslims believe in the slogan "Love For All, Hatered For None".
People who have incited religion for their own benefit were Bhutto and zia, after their elimination the inspired filth infested the whole country.
Our Jamaat is promised by GOD AlMIGHTY "that you enemies will be eliminated for their crimes, so watch contractors your fate is sealed.
Its very Sad, Shame on Murders.
These killars themselves are calling Gods panishment when they kill innocent people. And this panishment has began.
@GhostRider:
At least you dare to say out loud that you feel sad while disagreeing with Ahmadiyya's faith. We all can live togather and still live with disagreements and that is called Sense. This thinking is required to increase tolerance among all schools of Islamic and non islamic schools of belief.
May Allah save our Pakistan and make us to be the number one Nation to help and Serve humanity in every corner of the earth amen.
The situation in Pakistan is extremely grave. For decades Ahmadi Muslims have not been able to live in peace, in fact they live their lives in constant danger.........but inspite of all this Our salvation lies in our supplication to God Almighty and we believe that He has, and always will, help us.......may he find peace and solace (ameen)...
At prayer times if a MULLAH preaches any KILLING, then he must be charged with BLESPHEMING the HOLY QURAN. Nowhere in the HOLY QURAN that it states that innocent people should be killed.
Shameful
Ahmadiyya killings in Karachi bit surprising. If one sees the tall claims of Altaf Hussain and MQM, its political hold in Karachi duly shared by bit secular political jamaats like PP and ANP the astonishment further rises. How many times attention has to be drawn to stop brutal killings of innocents on the base of faith. Every request is confronted with deaf hearing. Hindus have a choice and are welcomed in India being Hindu majority country. Even Christians also get offers to get settled in Christian dominated countries. Where innocent Ahamdies should go no one knows. Every one turning his/her eyes on the Ahmadiyya atrocity will be accounted for in the eyes of God so better take some actions lest it becomes too late to repent.
unfortunate incident, we are living like ashab e kahf , in pakistan being an ahmadi is considered to be sin, we know the suffering being an ahmadi, these killings are of those whom people know that they are ahmedi, we are under cover in the caves hiding our identity that we are ahmadi muslim too
What a shame Pakistan has become.Pakistanis make wild animals look like saints. May God increase the punishment of the wrongdoers and may He destroy them, may He help the poor the needy and the victims. The unfortunate reality is that the punishment of God is descending all around them yet they consider themselves the righteous, the chosen ones, it is so sad that it is tragically funny.
The recent anti-Islam film is a product of a disease mind and the world knows that so they'll ignore it. But when you, the self-proclaimed 'flag bearers of Islam' completely disregard teaching of your own faith and show the world a completely different picture of how Islam is implemented then you give them no option but to look down upon you.
In my opinion, the film hasn't damaged the global image of Islam as much as these monstrous acts of complete insanity have.
You are destroying yourselves with all this hatred. I'll stick to 'Love for All, Hatred for None
My prayers and condolences to the family of deceased.
May ALLAH keep his soul in peace and give kamila shifa to Mr. Shams Fakhri.
@ Ahmad
what makes you think so? This kind of incidents have become all too common around the Muslim world.
shame on the security keepers..
And of course people will insist nonetheless that everything is fine. Minorities are very well-treated in Pakistan.
Ouch ! Looks like the end of Pakistan is coming... in'it?
I wish people of Pakistan wake up now. This is not Islam
It is a sad day, all over again: another innocent human being killed, another grievously injured. By now readers will have understood fully well the connection between the hate propaganda spewing forth from the mullah rabble-rousers, aided and abetted by the government, no less (proof: the invective printed on official billboards) and these acts of murder. Dozens of Ahmadis, peaceful citizens all, are murdered every year. In May 2010, nearly a hundred of them were massacred in Lahore, while at worship! Yet the government kept a careful distance from the victims, and because of tyrannical laws, even the media shied away from expressing much sympathy for them. This is the anti-thesis of a civilized society, Islamic or otherwise! I appeal to all Muslims of goodwill, wherever they may live, to press Pakistan to safeguard the lives, property, and honor of all its citizens. The cruel anti-Ahmadiyya laws promulgated by Bhutto and Haq should be rescinded, and the much-abused blasphemy laws voided. For those individuals who wish to learn the details of the true Islam that Ahmadis follow, I recommend visiting www.alislam.org, a veritable treasure-trove of spiritual knowledge! To all individuals of goodwill, peace!
Pakistanis should consider putting this tag line on its visa - "Jihadists at work and purification in process, please negotiate the streets of Pakistan carefully"....
Please wake-up Pakistanis. What is happening in your country in the name of Islam? Is this the teaching of Islam to kill innocent peoples and incourages people for killing the innocent peoples? The Mullahs who are claiming that we are the true believers of Islam are ruining the teaching of Islam by the wrong interpretation of Islam. They are the worst enemies of Islam. Islam is the religion of peace, love and tolerance. Are we forgetting the life of our Beloved, Respected Holy Prophet (peace & blessing of Allah be upon him). What he did at the time of the conquest of Mecca, was he killed anyone on the conquest of Mecca. Did he not forgave every one that day even the woman name Hinda who disrespect the dead body of His uncle Hazrat Hamza. Is there any example of his revenge to any human being? Is there Any Blasphemy Law in Holy Quran or was enforced in his life time or during the time of His khalifa (successors)? He was the mercy for all mankind (Rahmat-ul-lilalami) Dear Pakistanis, May Allah gives you wisdom and strength to fight against the falsehood and follow the true teaching of Islam. May Allah Save Pakistan? Visit to www.alislam.org to learn true teaching of Islam
My condolences...thats only what I can offer...though I disagree with your beliefs but still i have a huge respect for you guys as fellow citizens...i feel filled with shame that I cant do anything but say I am sorry for ur loss
we really never expect from govt that it will save us.sense of security and peace has almost been finished.this is the new span of target killing of the community as done Hazara genocide in quetta.in a week 4 ahmadies have been killed.we just pray to Allah He may save us from constitutional contractor of Islam and their disciple.
I thought Muslims respect others' religious beliefs, at least that is what the anchor of Kyun says in his closing statement a couple of days ago, guess that is not true? Muslims are also complaining about a stupid movie made by a criminal in the US that it does not respect their prophet, but according to the above news Muslims dont even respect their fellow citizen's faith and kill them just because of that....?
