Haji Fazal Muhammad’s house was blown up by militants in Sipah area of Bara subdivision in Khyber Agency on Sunday. Last year, Muhammad’s school in Mandai Kas area was blown up by the Mangal Bagh-led Lashkar-e-Islam (LI). Muhammad said his father had raised his voice against militants, terming them responsible for the massacre of innocent people, which angered them. Muhammad and his father migrated to Swat for safety reasons and established a small business there. Meanwhile, a shop was destroyed in Niazi Market close to Bara and other settled areas. An official of the paramilitary troops said that around 4:30pm, unidentified militants planted a bomb at the front door of Abdul Akbar’s jewellery shop. It was a low-intensity homemade bomb which partially destroyed his shop. No loss of life was reported. The official added that the troops launched a search operation but no arrests have been made as yet.
